As a beginner, you are legally allowed to book one trial lesson as an official introduction to the shooting sport. This allows unlicensed beginners to experience a real indoor shooting range under strict, professional supervision.
What to Expect: From Scared to Sharpshooter
One of the most common things we see with first-timers is a bit of nervousness. It is completely normal to feel a little intimidated or scared before stepping onto the range.
However, the transformation is always incredible to watch. Once the safety briefing is done and they take those first few shots, the fear disappears. By the end of the session, the same people who were nervous walking in are confident, smiling, and thrilled that they pushed out of their comfort zone to try it.
Your Time on the Range
Your session is heavily guided to ensure absolute safety and a great time. Here is how your time on the range breaks down:
- The Briefing: You start with a thorough breakdown of safety procedures, how to properly hold the firearms, how to aim, and where to focus your vision.
- The Gear: You are provided with professional safety goggles and ear protection.
- The Firearms: You will get hands-on experience shooting two distinct firearms at official paper targets: a semi-automatic .22 handgun and a .38 special revolver.
- The Support: An experienced, certified instructor is right there with you on the range 100% of the time, ensuring you are safe and helping you improve your aim.
The Golden Rules
Because this is a highly regulated sport in the Netherlands, there are a few strict rules that absolutely must be followed. If anyone in your group fails to meet these, they won’t be allowed onto the range.

If you are planning to bring a group, book as early as possible. Saturdays are incredibly busy and spots fill up fast, and the shooting range is closed on Sundays.
Because the range is located right in the city center, it is incredibly easy to build a full day of activities around your lesson.
